Welcome to NANOLAB
The main focus on our research is based on the investigation of the properties of ad-surface molecular structures built from the bottom-up. We are thereby contributing to on-surface chemistry and investigate the behaviour of specific molecular or supramolecular architectures in the context of new materials and devices.
In this context we are mostly interested in the understanding of both intermolecular and surface-molecule interactions, which are investigated by various surface science techniques: Variable Temperature Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy (VT-STM/STS), Low-Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy (UPS) as well as with the theoretical methods (e. g. DFT calculations).
